Lower Brule Sioux Tribe Awarded in Pilot Climate Smart Communities Initiative!

LBST in collaboration with the GPTWA was given an award of $121,400 to develop a climate resilience plan that addresses the increasing threat of drought, flood, and wildfire, while staying rooted in the Tribe’s principles of respect, inclusivity, and collaboration.

The People

Members of GPTWA are individuals appointed by Tribal Resolution of the governing body of Tribal Nations, residing with the Great Plains Region (Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota).  Each Nation who chooses to join GPTWA appoints a Director and Alternate Director to the Board of Directors.
